On Friday 18th March the Nafasi hosted another intriguing and informative edition of Artist Hangout. The event brought together Kiagho Kilonzo and Lute Mwakisopile to talk about their recent travels.
Lute spoke all about his recent exhibition in Switzerland and the challenges of selling work abroad. While Kiago shared his insights on the regional art scene after travelling around major East African cities like Kigali and Kampala as part of the East African Art Biennale’s Art Safari.
A special appearance by Godfrey Mnegereza, executive director of The National Arts Council (Basata), then led to more general questions about the goals and purpose of Art in modern Tanzania and Africa as a whole. All in all, it was a great evening!
Here are some pictures from the hangout.
