Last year Klaus Hartmann spent some months in Zambia and from there he came to Dar Es Salaam by train. Klaus Hartmann’s drawings capture a piece of time and the architectural features of different areas along the TAZARA route. They are images of places and buildings that are in a state of suspense between past and present. Often these are places that are about to disappear.
During his residency programme at NAFASI he translated his travel experience with the Tanzania – Zambia Railways, TAZARA, into a collection of paintings.
The exhibition “Somewhere between Kapiri Mposhi and Dar Es Salaam: The Tazara drawings” opens this Saturday 26th March and will remain so until 9th April 2022.
Entry is FREE and starts at 6:30 pm
