Nafasi Art Space is a Contemporary Art Space in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania started in 2008. It is situated on a former-factory plot in the industrial area of Mikocheni B, Dar es Salaam in an old warehouse with extensive grounds. On its premises there are artist studios, production workshops, three galleries, an art supply shop, a children’s space, an outdoor amphitheatre, performances spaces, networking spots, a local cafe, and more.
Nafasi’s overall aim is to further and enrich human potential through contemporary arts, providing opportunities for training, exchange and exhibition of contemporary arts locally, regionally and beyond.
We have a growing team of passionate arts and culture practitioners. We enjoy hosting volunteers & interns for our competitive 3-month arts management internship programme. Many interns go on to work at Nafasi or in other positions in the arts. Learn more about open positions below.
