Nafasi Art Space, a non-profit leading multidisciplinary art center in Tanzania, provides a platform for artists’ skill development, exchanges, and showcasing in visual and performing arts. We accomplish this through training, exchanges, and experimental art exhibitions at local, regional, and global levels.
The Nafasi Academy for Contemporary Art, Expression, and Inclusion aims to enhance access to cultural rights in Tanzania. It serves as a learning program for emerging artists, curators, and arts managers, offering a solid foundation in conceptual art practices, opportunities for artistic exchange and collaboration, and a space for creating and exhibiting their work.
Nafasi Art Space invites visual artists from diverse areas of Tanzania to apply for our distinctive 10-month program. A selected cohort of 14 participants will engage in 5 modules focused on professional growth. These modules include intensive meetings, technical workshops, practical training, work placements, and orientation projects, blending theory with Tanzanian practicality.
We actively encourage applications from young individuals, women, and talents outside Dar es Salaam, while also welcoming submissions from other Tanzanian regions. Come nurture your creativity and join our esteemed community.
