The Thematic Programme by Nafasi Academy is a long form workshop and residency seeking to engage artistic and curatorial practices as a means to inform and systemize, socially, historically, and aesthetically, relevant approaches to materials and concepts under specific themes.
For this edition, Nafasi welcomes artists, curators, designers, photographers, filmmakers, and other cultural practitioners with interests ranging from food, craft, healing/medicine, architecture and the environment to take part in New Shapes, a residency and lab taking place this October & December in Dar-es-salaam and Morogoro.
As part of the New Shapes programme, participants will engage in collaborative exercises and activities designed to examine and explore modes of handling, living and existing with the natural world in our immediate lives in order to better define shifts in our social and cultural interactions with the earth.
The programme will consist of workshops, research, artistic production, and collaboration that will result in an exhibition in December.

Kwa mwaka huu, Nafasi inakaribisha wasanii, wachoraji, wabunifu, watungaji, wapiga picha, watengenezaji filamu, na wataalam mbali mbali wa tamaduni ukiwemo upishi, ufundi, ushonaji, na usanifu wa majengo kwa ajili ya kushiriki katika semina, ziara na kambi ya New Shapes,wakati wa mwezi Oktoba na Desemba hii, katika miji ya Dar-es-salaam na Morogoro.
Kama sehemu ya programu hii wahusika watashiriki katika zoezi lenye lengo la kutafakari mifano hai ya kuishi na kutunza mimea na mifugo ndani ya mazingira ya kisasa kwa kujenga hoja kamilifu za nafasi yetu katika itakidi za utanzaji wa mazingira.
