Miguel Costales is a visual artist from Cabo de Gata, Almeria, Spain. He works in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, wood carving, cement, and found objects. He has been visiting Tanzania since 1996. His work depicts daily life in Tanzania from the perspective of a long time resident, capturing the dichotomy of the easy going and the hustle and bustle of the Dar es Salaam coastal city life. He finds beauty in the differences and similarities he sees, and focuses on what makes all humans equal instead of what divides us.
