JOB PURPOSE 

Planning and implementing long term vision of Nafasi, developing a recognizable artistic identity or brand, ensure high quality programs. Lead a creative artistic direction, vision and quality of the artistic output in Nafasi.

Stakeholder Management: 

Reporting to the managing / board of directors on artistic creativity and direction. 

Maintaining positive and trust-based relations with donors and sponsors, streamline support requests and report tracking systems, ensure donor compliance requirements. 

Responsible for the overall management and supervision and delivery of Nafasi artistic staff, drive commitment to goals achievement. Overseeing hiring of staff, setting up policies and procedures that promote a positive work culture. 

Lead community engagement and outreach through building partnerships to communicate Nafasi’s mission and create a good public profile and reputation. 

Ensuring a swift productive artist’s journey and experience with Nafasi 

Program Management: 

Organizational growth: Grow Nafasi through programs expansion, awareness creation for support and advocacy efforts and fundraising for partnerships expansion and new sources of donations, grants and sponsorships. 

Impact monitoring and evaluation: Demonstrate outcomes to the community through clear metrics and regular evaluation of programs. 

Marketing and branding: Overseeing marketing plan, target audiences, key messages and marketing channels which are most effective to reaching the audience 

Art Management: 

Responsible for cultivating relationships with other artists and organizations, securing funding, and developing marketing strategies 

Responsible for developing the overall artistic vision of Nafasi which includes determining the themes, styles, and formats that will be used to convey the Nafasi’s message or achieve its goals 

Responsible for overseeing projects, galas, premieres and exhibitions calendar year, plan and optimally allocate resources. 

Responsible for Budgeting and fundraising for art training, presentations and exhibitions. 

Participate in conferences, conventions and other industry events to build relationships with vital donors and broker new artistic collaborations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Arts, Design, or a related field / Work experience in cultural and creative sector

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

Professional Certification for Arts, Culture management Curatorial or related fields
MINIMUM WORKING EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of working experience in the Arts and Culture Sector
  • 3 years of extensive experience on a managerial role

Ability to manage and motivate a team of creative professionals, and inspire them to produce their best work. 

Ability to persuasively and articulately represent the interests of the performance wing of the organization, as well as their own vision for the company.
